Terms of Use
The terms for using whitprogram.org.
Effective date: October 23, 2026.
These Terms of Use govern your use of whitprogram.org, operated by The WHIT Program, Inc. (“WHIT,” “we,” “us”), a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in San Angelo, Texas. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Purpose of this website
This website shares information about WHIT’s free tutoring for children in foster care, how to refer a student, how to volunteer, our events, and how to support our work. Information is provided for general purposes. Program details, dates and partner opportunities can change, so please contact us or the partner organization to confirm details before you rely on them.
Volunteering
Submitting a tutor application does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. All tutors must complete a background check, fingerprint screening and WHIT training, and must follow WHIT’s volunteer policies, including confidentiality requirements. WHIT may decline or end any volunteer placement at its discretion, consistent with the law and the best interests of the children we serve.
Referrals
Student referrals are accepted from Child Protective Services, judges with jurisdiction over CPS cases and CASA volunteers. Contacting us about a referral does not guarantee that a student will be matched with a tutor.
Donations
Online donations are processed by PayPal and are subject to PayPal’s terms. Donations are voluntary and are generally not refundable; if you believe a donation was made in error, contact us promptly and we will review your request. WHIT is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations may be tax-deductible; please consult your tax advisor. Gifts are used for WHIT’s charitable mission at the discretion of WHIT’s board.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website to break the law, to send spam or harmful code, to try to gain unauthorized access to any system, to collect information about others, or to post or send content that is abusive or that identifies a child in foster care. Never share a child’s confidential case information through a public channel.

The text, logos, graphics and videos on this site belong to WHIT or are used with permission or under license, including licensed stock photographs. The WHIT Program name and logo are WHIT’s marks. You may share links to our pages and quote short passages with credit to The WHIT Program. Please contact us before reusing our logo, photos or videos.
